The Aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis) is a compact succulent with the typical rosette form. In the photo you see fleshy, tapered leaves in a medium green, with a faint silvery sheen and small lighter speckles across the surface. The leaf tips carry a reddish-brown tone — this often happens when the plant gets plenty of light, and it is no cause for concern.
Aloe vera is uncomplicated. It likes a bright, sunny spot, ideally right by a window. When watering, you can be sparing — the soil should dry out well between waterings. In summer, every two weeks is usually enough, even less often in winter. It does not appreciate standing water at all.
The plant stores water in its leaves, so it can easily survive a forgotten watering can. There is also the well-known fact that the clear gel inside the leaves has long been used as a small home remedy — for sunburn or minor skin patches.
The Aloe is delivered in a terracotta pot, as you see in the picture. The decorative pot may differ slightly from the photo, depending on availability in our atelier.
