A Christmas arrangement in the classic red-and-green style. In the photo you see vivid red Poinsettia bracts (Euphorbia pulcherrima) at the centre. Around them are dense holly leaves (Ilex) with their typically wavy, slightly prickly edges, joined by small white berries and deep red berry accents scattered like little dots throughout.
A pine cone at the lower edge and fine fir and juniper sprigs give the arrangement depth and a Christmas fragrance.
It all sits in a simple white metal pot that carries the bold colours nicely. In the photo, two red Christmas baubles lie beside the arrangement as decoration — they do not belong to the piece itself but show how beautifully it suits a festive table or chest of drawers.
This arrangement is seasonal and suits the Advent period in particular, from late November through to after Christmas.
