The Snake Plant (Sansevieria trifasciata) — also known here as Mother-in-law's Tongue — is one of the most robust house plants of all. In the photo you see the variegated form with upright, sword-shaped leaves. The middle of the leaves is dark green with fine lighter cross stripes, while the edges glow in a clear yellow-green.
The plant stands upright and very neatly arranged, almost sculptural.
Care could not be simpler. The Snake Plant wants to stand in a bright spot but copes with less light too. With watering, it is very modest — the soil should dry out well between waterings. In winter we water only every few weeks, sometimes even less. If you tend to forget watering, this is the right plant for you.
It does not mind dry, heated air. It is ideal for rooms where other plants struggle.
The plant is delivered in a gold-coloured metal pot, as shown in the photo, with a small moss covering on the soil surface. The decorative pot may differ slightly from the photo.
