The Guzmania is a tropical bromeliad (Bromeliaceae family) and brings plenty of colour into the room with its striking flower spike. In the photo you see a plant with upright, vivid orange-red bracts standing in a flame-like funnel. At the tips of the bracts, small yellow accents flash through.
The leaves underneath are long, narrow and glossy dark green — they form a beautiful rosette around the flower spike.
Guzmanias are surprisingly low-maintenance. They like a bright spot away from direct midday sun. With watering, there is one particularity to note: water goes directly into the central "funnel cup" of the leaf rosette, not into the soil. We change the water every few weeks so it stays fresh. The soil is kept only lightly moist.
A little humidity does it good, especially in winter.
The plant is delivered in a beige ceramic decorative pot with a fine geometric pattern, as shown in the photo. The decorative pot may differ slightly from the photo.
