The Kentia Palm (Howea forsteriana) is one of the most elegant indoor palms and at the same time one of the most uncomplicated. In the photo you see a plant with several gracefully arching fronds. The individual leaflets are narrow and slightly drooping, in a calm medium green — typical of the Kentia.
It feels upright, relaxed and very tidy — a plant that gives a room a calm, almost tropical atmosphere instantly.
The Kentia likes a bright spot away from harsh midday sun, but copes well in partial shade — which makes it ideal for living rooms with slightly less direct light. With watering, we keep the soil evenly slightly moist. We avoid standing water in the decorative pot.
A little humidity does it good, particularly in winter above a heater. An occasional misting or wiping of the fronds keeps it looking lovely.
The plant is delivered in a simple cream-grey ceramic decorative pot with small decorative stones on the soil surface, as shown in the photo. The decorative pot may differ slightly from the photo.
