Three Phalaenopsis orchids in a heart-shaped planter. In the photo you see a cream-white orchid with yellow centres, a soft pink orchid with darker markings and a vivid magenta orchid — the three colours stand clearly side by side and give the arrangement a very expressive composition.
The dark green, glossy leaves at the base of each plant are thick and leathery, typical of the Phalaenopsis. The container is heart-shaped, in a warm coral red — a clear gift statement.
Phalaenopsis orchids like a bright spot away from harsh midday sun. With watering, they are modest — we briefly dip the root ball into room-temperature water every one to two weeks, let it drain, and then place it back. We avoid standing water.
