The classic Poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima) in vivid red. In the photo you see a plant with large, star-shaped red bracts that look like blooms — they are actually coloured leaves, the so-called bracts. At the centre sit the small, inconspicuous true flowers.
The lower leaves are vividly dark green and glossy — they give the plant a clear frame.
The Poinsettia likes a bright spot but no draughts and no cold roots — it reacts sensitively to changes in temperature. On the way home, it is therefore important to protect it from the cold. With watering, it is very sensitive to waterlogging — we water sparingly, let the soil dry out at the top between waterings, and remove excess water immediately.
With good care, the Poinsettia often blooms for several weeks or months.
The plant is delivered in a simple white decorative pot, as shown in the photo. The decorative pot may differ slightly from the photo.
