The Swiss Cheese Plant (Monstera deliciosa) is one of the best-known house plants of all — and for good reason. In the photo you see a well-developed specimen with large, deeply incised leaves. The typical "windows" — the natural slits and holes in the leaves — are clearly visible and give the plant its German name "Fensterblatt".
The leaves are a rich green and glossy; on the stems, a few aerial roots reach out from the pot — a healthy sign that the plant is growing well.
The Swiss Cheese Plant likes a bright spot away from harsh midday sun. A place in the living room with daylight suits it very well. With watering, we let the upper layer of soil dry out between waterings — the Monstera does not like waterlogging at all. A little humidity does it good, and an occasional wipe of the leaves keeps them clean and fresh.
The plant is delivered in a simple beige decorative pot, as shown in the photo. The decorative pot may differ slightly from the photo.
